  • How To Eat And Exercise Right

A. Daily diet: 3 meals (supper before 19:00)
Each meal means:
1. blended vegitable juice with the following ingredients handful each time: a half apple, pineapple, cabbage, alfalfa sprout, green pea spire, celery, cucumber (or papaya) If you want it more tasty, you can add a little honey in it with some ice and water to make it cooler and thinner. Drink off within 15 mins after blended for not being over-dioxided.
2. 2 slices of toast or one steamed bun (multi-grained)
* You barely need any meat, if you should do, eat only once a week, fish, beef or mutton only.
* You don't have to drink any milk; drink soybean juice instead.
* You can eat an egg a week, no more.
* To anyone who can not hold on to the healthy diet long (esp. for Mr. Whatever): YOU CAN FEAST A BIG MEAL ONCE EVERY TWO WEEKS!
B. Exercise:
1. To move excess fat: 40 mins brisk walking with weighted wristlets or leggings
2. To strengthen muscular density and nice body shape : push-ups, stretching exercise, work-out  and karate
3. To get the ultimate physical invincibility: sipping some Sprite leisurely on a little fishing boat at home
C. Something far more efficient and beneficial than  A and B: BELIEVE IN GOD, YHVH!
1. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own uderstanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
2. Do not  be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. (Proverbs 3:5~8)

  • My Epitaph Version 2 (To Be Buried Again)

Yes, Mr. Whatever is damn right! There shouldn't be so many words on the stone, and we should not give our beloved people further tortures like hurting their eyes even if we are dead, and we have no right to do that either. Thanks for your smart and cute idea, Mr. Whatever. After all, you are not so "whatever" as I think; you still have many good choices with taste.
So here is my revised inscription:
How is life?
Tired, risky, but rewarding.
...and I hope this time I'll be dead in peace...

  • My Epitaph

The world is a mess, and I was also among it. But I am happy to have been here once anyway, for I was luckily granted to experience the world, and, what is more lucky, I am able to bear all these wonderful memories to Him who brought me into life and live with Him forever.

  • For Another Chris

My dear and beloved Chris,
it is really stunting to know till today that you are also Chris! Where is the chainsaw guy then? You know, I am so proud of my name for now I can say loudly, dare claim bravely, and have realized clearly that I am of the Lord and the purpose of my rest life is Jesus-driven. Maybe you have not known Him, our Lord, much enough, but I am so happy and so honored to share the same name with you. Frankly to say, it is you that deserve the name far better than I do. You have a tender heart and a soft mind that can absorb almost anything against you, even if some rub you the wrong way boldly. I have seen you through a junior to a strong, well-educated, gentle young man, knowing the most etiquettes. You are actually my best student that reached way beyond average and always within the most decent and satisfying performances. Since long ago would I like to reveal you all this, buried in my mind, and then give you a big hug, But I lurched, only to waste much time before on those meaningless pursues for vanities. I am sorry, Chris, for not encouraging you in time, that you yourself is one of my greatest harvests in the field of 20-year English teaching. But still it is not too late, I think, except for some warm and sincere advice on aspiring after  the only truth, regardless of my naive promise some years ago to teach you four tricky  "tricks" to get the world in a snap, well, so honestly than ever:
"People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."
Please trust me as you did before, young master, though I was never a real teacher as I was supposed to be. This time, everything seems to have been in the right groove already...
Best Wishes With All My Heart
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Chris

  • A Good Brother Part II

He did nothing, after a sad long sigh, but prayed to God, prayed and prayed..., telling his deepest agonies and sorrows to God. I was so afaid that he just couldn't receive His voice of comfort for it was so tangled and complicated in his mind. His heart was weeping, sobbing for the misunderstanding, desolations and coldness got from others, especially from those who he loved with his pure soul, his innocent friendliness. I was so afraid, that he would lose his faith to God and turn to his being, his free will and simply let his ego drive him to nowhere with his fists of fury. Feeling betrayed, rejected and lonely, this young man encountered a sensational blow of power punch one can never easily take. Oh, is it fair to him?, I murmered to God, hoping Him not to put so many tests to my poor student, who has been wounded without passing his true love to any, not even one, he ever fell in love with.
After a moment, he opened his eyes, smashing off his cigarette bud (He is the only one I've ever seen till now who smokes while praying...), and told me, "It is painful indeed, well, I'll take it if it is from Him." He then pointed to the sky where God was listening there, with a somewhat reluctant smile. At this moment, I knew that he has passed one, if it was not the big final, great test of life.
I was sure it was certainly from God for after the test he might acquire piece and faith in his mind. I smiled at him too, with a deep sigh of releaf and thought to myself: "How little my faith to God it is! I just can't believe that Howard could get through it --- in God's way, not his."
He walked slowly to Super and his girl, well, now she belonged to Super, wishing them good lucky, turning around to me, raising both his hands upward to God, and said lightly with a slight smile, "Another heart-broken story, isn't it? That's all right, if, if only it is from Him..."
Saying good-bye to the new couple, I accompanied Howard till dawn, trying to give him more support and comfort. He didn't say much, only nodding and wondering while I retold the whole story to him, though he appearantly didn't show much interest about the toughness the story basically was. "I don't want to be showing off! But I really want God to know what I have done for Him. I wish them to know too."
"That's enough when He knows. He will grant you another romance, the only difference lies this time it's not arranged by you, but Him.", I replied.
"Yes, He will. I am waiting for 'Tien Ting' from now on!", he answered with confidence.
I saw him off with his fancy blue "Godspeed" motorbike dashing along Ming-tzu Road early in the morning, "Good-bye, brother, you lived out a great example to me.", I thought and watched him disappear at the road end, and at this moment I was sure, so sure that, maybe he should get a new English name...

  • Fittness Is The First Thing First

Keep fit! I have much work to do. Since I have known my Lord's plan for me, I should waste no time, concentrating on what seems meaningless, worldly or emotional. I've got to equipt myself to be a humble servant of God. Being His servant is never an easy task, and such honor is not easily granted either. But still I will try my best to get as many gifts He prepared for me to meet His requirement for being His servant.
Thank you, my dear Father for you have fillfuled what I yearned and told me who I am, what I should do and where I should go. Please don't leave me alone and put me into great temptation that I couldn't bear. Be with me always...

  • Great Gain

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing we will be content with that. People who want to get rich fall into temptaion and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

  • Why We Get Together?

The reason people get together is not due to certain obligations or responsibilities we feel reluctant to take, but because of true love the Lord gives us beforehand toward each other from the deepest of out hearts.
We should fulfill tasks assigned from the Lord together with such love, to bear hopes and to take and share each other's weakness and pain.
For the Lord is always watching if we do concern our prayer to be humble servants of Him. He will certainly grant us what we need in time.

  • Full Swing Analysis

Full Swing Analysis Version: April, 2008
By Christian Chiou, Revised in September, 2010, Revised in November, 2010
1. Handgrip And Ball position
1.1.01 Hold firmly but not so tightly as not to move your wrists freely. You may feel more pressure on the last three fingers of left hand as well as the thumb and forefinger of the right. Snugly melt your both hands into one piece with either “interlocking” or “overlapping” grip.
1.2.02 Face squarely the back of left hand down the target line, which is so-called “neutral grip”; so are your shoulders, feet and the club face.
1.3.03 Hang your two arms naturally down toward the ground. Don’t let them surpass the vertical extended line from your toes.
1.4.04 The ball should be placed at the lowest point any of your club head sweeping over the turf, where it can be invited with the maximum club momentum.
2. Stance
2.1.05 Spread two legs within shoulder width while too wide to shift your weight and too narrow to meet a nice balance through full swing motion.
2.2.06 Bend down yourself at your hip but make your back straight and always keep the constant spine angle. Keep your chin a bit above from the path of your shoulder turn. Both knees should be flexible, not too rigid nor too relaxing; make sure they are stable and natural. The center of whole body weight lies evenly on both feet and knees, feeling like sitting on the edge of a tall bar chair.
2.3.07 Be in alignment with the target line. Make sure your stance, your feet and the club are parallel to the target. Only so can you then identify if your swing is correct. In golf, one good thing leads to another --- and the chain reaction starts with your address position.
3. Take-up
3.1.08 Put some little pre-shot motion into a routine before taking up to loosen the nervous muscles. Left arm straight, right flexible. To initiate the swing, move your club with your left shoulder slowly and smoothly as possible in a hand-shoulder-waist-one-piece unity, feeling both arms faithfully attached your chest. Never manipulate them jerkily to break this unity.
3.2.09 Head, neck and spine angle should be still as three most vital fulcrums during a swing, always so even till the utmost of your shoulder turn. Be sure your right elbow is always pointing down the ground and both your arms clipping to your chest when taking up.
3.3.10 To create the largest power of a swing, you have to shift your weight totally to the very right side of your torso, namely, not over the left margin of your right foot. You can reach the position by checking if your left knee cap has already been pointing to the ball a bit behind, but keep the right knee rather fixed as an insurance of not shifting too far to keep the fulcrums still. Don’t dip yourself or lean forward at this stage. Doing so will cause “thick hits”, which along with “topping” is one of the nastiest maladies of amateur golfers.
3.4.11 Forget about the wrist cock. The weight of the club head will naturally make them cock when taking up to the top and the centrifugal force will turn them to their initial stance posture back. The whole movement is a matter of instinct and spontaneousness. Just keep them flex and alert, and leave them alone.
4. Down Swing
4.1.12 Start the down swing from your right (yet some pros start their swings from the left) waist, hip, and esp. right elbow, so-called “magic move”, dropping down your right elbow back to the right side, not your hands. Hands are mostly passive.

  • A Good Brother Part I

Recently I've gone through so many miracles, so many that I just couldn't help but believe in His Almighty. One of my naughty students, Howard, not much willing to open any one of his text book, always making troubles on studies, has shown me how wonderful God is and how amazing and incredible He conducts His work upon us. As Howard had his saddest slump in his life ever, losing his Miss Right for his pal during a party, well, let me put something ahead, his "dream girl" is somewhat... you know, ODD. She seldom pays attention to the feelings someone else could bear, and she just didn't care about them. On that day, I arranged a little gettogether among some of my students, including Howard and her, of course, in order to make both of them more acquainted. But to my big surprise, the girl gave her hand to his friend, Super, who is also a young, slender and gentle kid with the same passion for love. This broke Howard's fragile lonely heart, simply totally..., into pieces, fractional. I was so afraid then that he would do something terrible to hurt Super or even himself. And I had no ideas how to comfort him or do something to make him a bit more relexed.
What happened then? Did Howard lose his mind doing anything crazy? Read Part II and you will know...
