"Dreams" is a song by Irish rock band the Cranberries. It was released in 1992 as the band's debut single, later appearing on the studio album Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We? A 1990 version was released in Ireland only in the summer of that year. It reached the top 40 on the US Hot 100 Airplay and the top 30 on the UK Singles Chart in early 1994. The backing vocals on the song are sung by Mike Mahoney, ex-boyfriend of Cranberries lead singer Dolores O'Riordan. This hit was also a main feature of the Cranberries in the 1994 Woodstock Revival Festival. In 2017, the song was released as an acoustic, stripped down version on the band's Something Else album.

Dolores Mary Eileen O'Riordan (/oʊˈrɪərdən/; 6 September 1971 – 15 January 2018) was an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician. She led the rock band The Cranberries from 1990 until their breakup in 2003; they reunited in 2009. O'Riordan's first solo album, Are You Listening?, was released in May 2007 and was followed up by No Baggage in 2009. O'Riordan was known for her lilting mezzo-soprano voice, her emphasized use of yodelling, and her strong Limerick accent. She appeared as a judge on RTÉ's The Voice of Ireland during the 2013–14 season. In April 2014, O'Riordan joined and began recording new material with the trio D.A.R.K.

O'Riordan died unexpectedly on 15 January 2018 at age 46 while in London for a recording session.

Dolores O'Riordan was born 6 September 1971 in Ballybricken, County Limerick, the youngest of nine children, two of whom died in infancy. Her six siblings include Terence, Brendan, Donal, PJ, Joseph, and Angela. Her father, Terence Patrick "Terry" O'Riordan (1937–2011), was a farm labourer who was left unable to work due to brain damage caused by a motorbike accident in 1968. Her mother, Eileen, was a school caterer. She attended Laurel Hill Coláiste FCJ school in Limerick. In 2013, O'Riordan described how, from the age of eight, she was sexually abused for four years by someone she trusted. :(

Byron Janis (born March 24, 1928) is an American classical pianist. He made several recordings for RCA Victor and Mercury Records, and occupies two volumes of the Philips series Great Pianists of the 20th Century.

His discography covers repertoire from Bach to David W. Guion and includes major piano concertos from Mozart to Rachmaninoff and Liszt to Prokofiev.

Janis was born Byron Yanks (a shortened form of his family's name, Yankelevitch) in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to Jewish parents of Russian and Polish descent. When he was 2 years old, the family moved to Pittsburgh. He was considered to be a child prodigy and was given his first piano lesson at age 5 with Abraham Litow, who had studied at the prestigious Music Conservatory in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Janis studied with Litow until he was 8 years old.  At this point Litow called Josef and Rosina Lhevinne, then residing in Kew Gardens, Queens, New York, asking if they would hear Janis play. They did and Janis began two years of study with the Lhevinnes.

At 11, Janis permanently lost sensation in his left little finger due to an accident. In 1942, he made his orchestral debut playing Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in New York with Toscanini's NBC Orchestra. When Janis was 16, Vladimir Horowitz heard his performance of the same concerto with the Pittsburgh Symphony conducted by 15-year-old Lorin Maazel and invited Janis to be his first student. He studied with Horowitz for four years and also with Franz Mohr, the famed piano technician at Steinway Pianos. He remained a close friend and one of only three students ever acknowledged by Horowitz-the other two being Gary Graffman and Ronald Turini. ~ wiki

Arcadi Volodos (Russian: Аркадий Аркадиевич Володось, Arkadij Arkadievich Volodos; born 24 February 1972) is a Russian pianist. His first name is sometimes transliterated Arcady or Arkady.

Born in Leningrad in 1972, he began his musical training studying voice, following the example of his parents, who were singers, and later shifted his emphasis to conducting while a student at the Glinka Chapel School and the St. Petersburg Conservatory. Though he had played the piano from the age of eight, he did not devote himself to serious study of the instrument until 1987. His formal piano training took place at the Moscow Conservatory Music College with Galina Eguiazarova. Volodos also studied at the Paris Conservatory with Jacques Rouvier. In Madrid, he studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Dimitri Bashkirov.

Despite the relative brevity of his formal studies, Volodos has been naturally and rapidly propelled into the elite pantheon of the world's most important pianists. "Paul is one of the most innovative bass players ... half the stuff that's going on now is directly ripped off from his Beatles period ... He's an egomaniac about everything else, but his bass playing he'd always been a bit coy about."

~ Lennon, Playboy magazine, January 1981

Michel Petrucciani was born on December 28, 1962 in Orange, Vaucluse, France and passed away on January 6, 1999 in New York City.
Michel Petrucciani was born to Italian parents in Montpellier, France. His family was musical, and as a child he played the drums in a band with his father, Tony, a guitarist, and his brother Louis, a bassist. Michel was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as “glass bones,” a disease that stunted his growth (he was only three feet tall and weighed barely 50 pounds) and weakened his bones.
From the beginning, Petrucciani had always been musical, reportedly humming Wes Montgomery solos by the time he learned to speak. The musician that would prove most influential to Petrucciani was Bill Evans, who he began listening to at around the age of ten. Petrucciani’s layered harmonies, lyrical style, and articulation of melody have always been linked most strongly to this early exposure to Evans. Petrucciani trained in classical piano starting at the age of four, and was making music with his family by the age of nine.
When Michel was thirteen, he gave his first concert as a professional at the Cliousclat Festival. He had to be carried onto the stage, and used a special attachment to work the sustaining pedal of the piano.  This disadvantage didn’t affect his hands, however, and, according to reports, he played with amazing vigor and enthusiasm.   Also performing at the festival was the American trumpeter Clark Terry, who needed a pianist that day. When Michel offered him his services, Clark thought it was a joke. “‘Let’s play the Blues,’ he said. The minute Michel played, Clark embraced him, and that was where it all started.

Murray Perahia
Born: April 19, 1947 - New York City, New York, USA
The distinguished American concert pianist and conductor, Murray Perahia, was born of Sephardic Jewish origin, and began playing the piano at four but he didn't start practising seriously until the age of 15. At the age of 17, he attended Mannes College, where he studied keyboard, conducting, and composition with his teacher and mentor Mieczyslaw Horszowski. During the summer, he also attended Marlboro, where he studied with Rudolf Serkin, and Pablo Casals, amongst others. In 1972, he won the 4th Leeds Piano Competition, helping to cement its reputation for advancing the careers of young pianistic talent. Dr. Fanny Waterman recalls anecdotally (in Wendy Thompson's book Piano Competition: The Story of the Leeds) that Mieczyslaw Horszowski had phoned her prior to the competition, announcing that he would enter the winner. Other American contestants had apparently withdrawn their applications upon hearing that Perahia would be competing.

In 1973 Murray Perahia worked with Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears at the Aldeburgh Festival. He became co-artistic director in 1981, stepping down in 1989. Perahia famously held a close acquaintance with an elder Vladimir Horowitz, who had a defining influence on his pianism. His first major recording project was the complete piano concertos by W.A. Mozart, conducted from the keyboard with the English Chamber Orchestra. In the 1980's, he also recorded the complete L.v. Beethoven piano concertos, with Bernard Haitink and the Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam.

What are the Solfeggio frequencies?

Solfeggio frequencies make up the ancient 6-tone scale thought to have been used in sacred music, including the beautiful and well known Gregorian Chants. The chants and their special tones were believed to impart spiritual blessings when sung in harmony. Each Solfeggio tone is comprised of a frequency required to balance your energy and keep your body, mind and spirit in perfect harmony.
The main six Solfeggio frequencies are:

396 Hz – Liberating Guilt and Fear

巴哈的第五個兒子所譜寫的小曲:C.P.E. Bach - Solfeggietto in C minor (H 220, Wq. 117: 2) 我也要學這首~ :)

Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (8 March 1714 – 14 December 1788), also formerly spelled Karl Philipp Emmanuel Bach, was a German Classical period musician and composer, the fifth child and second (surviving) son of Johann Sebastian Bach and Maria Barbara Bach. His second name was given in honor of his godfather Georg Philipp Telemann, a friend of Johann Sebastian Bach.
C. P. E. Bach was an influential composer working at a time of transition between his father's baroque style and the classical and romantic styles that followed it. His personal approach, an expressive and often turbulent one known as empfindsamer Stil or 'sensitive style', applied the principles of rhetoric and drama to musical structures. Bach's dynamism stands in deliberate contrast to the more mannered galant style also then in vogue.
To distinguish him from his brother Johann Christian, the "London Bach," who at this time was music master to the Queen of England, C. P. E. Bach was known as the "Berlin Bach" during his residence in that city, and later as the "Hamburg Bach" when he succeeded Telemann as Kapellmeister there. He was known simply as Emanuel to his contemporaries. ~ wiki

William John Evans (August 16, 1929 – September 15, 1980) was an American jazz pianist and composer who mostly worked in a trio setting. Evans' use of impressionist harmony, inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire, block chords, and trademark rhythmically independent, "singing" melodic lines continue to influence jazz pianists today.

Bill Evans was an avid reader, in particular philosophy and humorous books. His shelves held works by Plato, Voltaire, Whitehead, Santayana, Freud, Margaret Mead, Sartre and Thomas Merton; and had a special fondness for Thomas Hardy's work. He was fascinated with eastern religions and philosophies including Islam, Zen, and Buddhism. It was also Evans who introduced John Coltrane to the Indian philosophy of Krishnamurti. Evans liked to paint and draw. He was also a keen golfer, a hobby that began on his father's golf course. Evans had a fondness for horse racing and frequently gambled hundreds of dollars, often winning. During his last years he even owned a racehorse named "Annie Hall" with producer Jack Rollins.

We needed people that were interested in each other, so that we could spend a year or two just growing, without ambitions, just allowing the music to grow. And allowing our talents to merge in a very natural way. ~Evans in interview with George Clabin, 1966
