This short story is barely counted as fair description about the current educational systems in Taiwan. The author must have been engaging in the field for quite a while, who successfully expressed out the reluctance and dilemma between the shortage of teaching manpower and the individualistic property of education, where most teachers find it pretty thorny to handle amid, and let alone improve or solve it.

First, the format of this story is stout. The author took up almost a half of the plot dipicting a couple of personal cases of teaching targets such as Benson Chiou, the Naughty Bruce, the idling Paul, and some others, only to make a little attemption to emphasize the quality of single, and very specifically oriented, learning conditions and environments, which also exert impacting leverages on the result of effective education. Hence we might be inferred the major factors of successful teaching, according to the author, of course. These various factors of individualism do make the teacher, Mr. Wu, very confused, not knowing a better idea for the readers ending up rounding all aspects met, which derived the culmination of the story, that is, the solution to the vague and ambiguous contradiction, even to the so-called helplessness of school education nowadays.

Elaboratedly enough, the author used only a short paragraph to state the decision of the teacher and what the teacher reacted to it, yet powerfully enough, also pointing out the fulcrum to make the momentum of teaching further go on, at which the climax of the whole story should be released. The author raised a personal example of the teacher that brought the ideology of education to live. We therefore understand what the situation was, what problem we might confront, and, most importantly, how we might take charge of it. And at the end of the article, the author concluded his personal experience on the interaction between teaching and learning, namely, the credo of true education. Instead of impassive jabs, it was indeed a powerful punch proper, so powerful to finish the game that quick.

The author worked out the whole play with a short story style, a popular expression of typical modern American literature, while it was written in Chinese, where I regard it as an obvious drawback of this article.  Besides, the names and characters, even the numbers and some facts the author cited in the article are real persons and events. This would be a bit ironical or offensive when said roles once read it with little being considerate and sense of humor, but without abasing the pursuation and revealingness of the article, I wonder.
