Other than the traditional theoretical depiction of jura terms, Mr. Puma showcases the most explicit principles for essential analysis of criminal cases, by which students can evaluate and spot the motiv and criminal behavior of a defendant or a doer on a certain crime, to judge the person's intension and the possibility for claiming his or her guilt. Clear and simple, also paying lots of retrospect and circumspect amid the contemporary academic view, written in pure plain spoken language, his book is the last one that makes law school students nauseate about bunches of terminologies and confusing abstuctive ideas that most people cannot get quite a picture in their mind simply they're way too metaphysical, and that hinders an efficient learning laws.
I myself am quite pro toward this style of writing for the very purpose of a book is exactly an attemp to making something difficult into something that is easier and comprehensible rather than the vice versa, isn't it? The knowledge of a subject may, and should, become less esoteric, abtruse, intricate, recondite, unfathomable, cabalistic, nebulous, obscure, indecipherible, profound, or deep, and we can understand it more. It seems not more effective to predend oneself learned and scholastic by using some chewy terms. That can't be tenable for long. What lasts longer is the gleaning and information seared in the readers' minds, as well as the style an author takes to refurbish his or her book, making it more readable and unforgettable. And I think Mr. Puma has reached this successfully.
In his book, he mentions that he personally is quite in favor of 'intellectual commonwealth', which means free taking and exchange of mutual data and ideas. I happen to own a view similar to his that makes me more comforted and inspired to share some common ideas with a person I admire and respect:
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY BELONGS TO THE PUBLIC. WHAT WE OWN IS THE ABILITY TO GENERATE INTELLECT. AND THAT ABILITY IS GRANTED BY GOD.
Now the rest for me to do is read through his book, know it through, and get throught the exams waiting for me three years later, in which I can conclude my reading his book also with one special character in addition to "破" (breakthrough):
