A breaking news couple of days when a photograph was seen in an English tabloid with Phelps, probably the greatest amphebian on earth, holding a marijuana pipe at a personal party. Well, as a matter of fact, it is really no big deal to see people doping at streets in America or Europe. Even I myself got some wee while studying in Leipzig, and people plant it at their own gardens. However, it is absolutely not the case when the same event happened to a celibrity, the focus of the public. For we all reach a somewhat mute consensus that such characters are mostly "previleged" for they are either preferential treated or strictly targeted. Nevertheless, is the condition really so complicated as they referred to?

Let's take a look at what Phelps' lawyer and agent's view is all about at this incident reported by New York Times, one of my favorite readings in English:

“They interrogated my client and Mr. McCulloch’s client (the lawyer for the other 7 arrests), not about where they got the marijuana, not about marijuana dealing in Columbia, but about whether they had been at the party in November with Phelps,” Harpootlian said. “Did they see him smoking marijuana? Did they know anything about drug use by him?”

Phelps’s agent, Drew Johnson, said that neither he nor Phelps had been contacted in connection with the arrests. Implicating Phelps would require the testimony of several witnesses, McCulloch said, because a photograph of him holding a pipe would not be substantial enough to stand up in court.

As you see, you would still get no idea whether Phelps did it or not. With time gone by, people forget about the story and are used to be declined to and rebuffed, having no intrests nor courage to take the plunge knowing further. In fact, the whole thing is rediculously simple and easy: just ask him if he did it and if he knew it is not proper or illegal in America. What would it be benefitial to with so many words? Where is the truth?

Therefore I think everyone should read the Book more often for the Savior said quite right: "But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil." Matthew 5:37

People err, yet to forgive is divine.
