這些是從一位讀小學的小朋友英文課本裡所看到、我第一時間說不出中譯的單字。薄薄的一本小冊書，自己還有那麼多字不會，慚愧至極... 操他媽我真爛啊！

adjourn v. postpone; suspend a meeting to a future time

alfalfa n. A southwest Asian perennial herb (Medicago sativa) in the pea family, having compound leaves with three leaflets and clusters of usually blue-violet flowers. It is widely cultivated as a pasture and hay crop.

arresting a. Attracting and holding the attention; striking:

bot n. (Animals) the larva of a botfly, which typically develops inside the body of a horse, sheep, or human

bummer n. an unpleasant or disappointing experience

cade a. (of a young animal) left by its mother and reared by humans, usually as a pet

cape n. A sleeveless outer garment fastened at the throat and worn hanging over the shoulders.

cod n. a pod or a husk; scrotum

contemn v. To view with contempt; despise

cot n. A narrow bed, especially one made of canvas on a collapsible frame.

coze n. an intimate friendly chat

dale n. a valley, esp. a broad valley.

dell n. A small secluded wooded valley.

fain a. happy; obliged 

gazillion n.  (pl.) an extremely large but unspecified number, quantity, or amoun

hem n. An edge or border on a piece of cloth, especially a finished edge, as for a garment or curtain, made by folding an edge under and stitching it down.

jot n. The smallest bit; iota.

jut v. To extend outward or upward beyond the limits of the main body; project

mole n. A skin lesion, commonly a nevus, that is typically raised and discolored.

muck n. A moist sticky mixture, especially of mud and filth.

oaf n. A person regarded as stupid or clumsy.

pip n. a small seed of a fruit; v. to defeat, to blackball

pitted a. Marked by pits.

pow wow n. (also powwow or pow-wow) a social gathering held by many different American Indian communities.

prescience n. knowledge of things before they exist or happen; foresight

retinue n. a suite

rill n. a rivulet

rudd n. A freshwater cyprinid fish (Scardinius erythrophthalmus) native to Eurasia, having a silvery or yellowish-green body with red fins.

rut n. A sunken track or groove made by the passage of vehicles.

sill n. A horizontal member that bears the upright portion of a frame.

thyme n. Any of several aromatic Eurasian herbs or low shrubs of the genus Thymus of the mint family

veal n. the meat of a calf

waif n.  A homeless person, especially a forsaken or orphaned child.
