1 Timothy
1:5-7 The whole point of what we're urging is simply love - love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit, a life open to God. Those who fail to keep to this point soon wander off into cul-de-sacs of gossip.
8-11 The moral guidance and counsel of course need to be given, but it is more important to know how we say them and whom we say them to along with what we should say, especially for those who are riding roughshod over God, and who are contemptuous of  great Message.
12-14 The only thing Paul took as a response to the credentials
God offered him at first was invective, witch hunt, and arrogance. Grace mixed with faith and love poured over him and into him. And all because of Jesus. Why do we feel reluctant to forgive others' wrong-doings? All because of our lack of Jesus' love!
15-19 What can we do apart from sheer mercy? God has His enless patience to those who are right on the edge of trusting Him forever.
19-20 Paul have two of his pupils taught by Satan about not blaspheming!

2:1-3 All the rulers in the world are given carte blanche to dominate over their reigns. And we should pray for our countries for steady and peaceful lives in the first place, which will be strongly related to the whole redemption of human kinds mentioned in verses 4-7, where Paul emphasized again - Jesus is the one and the only one Priest-mediator between God and us to ensure us to be in front of our Father in humility without primping before a mirror well-dressed. The faith is simple and bold, and the truth is plain and direct.
11-15 See, women. What should you do and how should you be in front of your men? Do not take over and tell men what to do; don't be so bossy. That's not womanistic! Learn to be quiet and obeident with everyone else - because the salvation can be reversingly from you women!

3:1-13 Want to be a servant at church? You have to meet the following preconditions:
1. Being well-thought-of
2. Being commited to his wife
3. Being prudent and collected
4. Being accessible
5. Being hospitable
6. Being communicative
7. Being not overfond of wine
8. Being not pushy but gentle, not thin-skinned, not money-hungry
9. Being well-organized
10. Being attentive to his own children and having their respect.
11. He must not be a new believer, lest the position go to his head and the Devil trip him up.
Those who do this servant work will come to be highly respected, a real credit to this Jesus-faith.

4:1-5 "These liars have lied so well and for so long that they've lost their capacity for truth. They will tell you not to get married. They'll tell you not to eat this or that food." Catholics and Buddists for celibacy? Mormons and Islamics for unclean food?
6-10 "Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever." I strongly perceive this is a gift God would like to send Bruce...

5:3-8 Alas, what numbers there are of this description among nominal Christians, even to the latest period of life! If any men or women do not maintain their poor relations, they in effect deny the faith. If they spend upon their lusts and pleasures, what should maintain their families, they have denied the faith, and are worse than infidels. If professors of the gospel give way to any corrupt principle or conduct, they are worse than those who do not profess to believe the doctrines of grace. (Matthew Henry)
18 Deut 25:4; a worker has right to get his pay.
21-23 If a person is involved in some serious sins, you don't want to become an unwitting accomplice. Lay hands suddenly on no man, that is, appoint no man to church offices without full trial and examination; else you will be accessary to, and accountable for, his misbehaviour in his office. Keep yourselves pure from the blood of all men. (Wesley)

6:6-8 A devout life does bring wealth, but it's the rich simplicity of being yourself before God.

2 Timothy
1:8-10 "So don't be embarrassed to speak up for our Master or for me, his prisoner. Take your share of suffering for the Message along with the rest of us. We can only keep on going, after all, by the power of God, who first saved us and then called us to this holy work. We had nothing to do with it. It was all his idea, a gift prepared for us in Jesus long before we knew anything about it. But we know it now. Since the appearance of our Savior, nothing could be plainer: death defeated, life vindicated in a steady blaze of light, all through the work of Jesus." I find no clue for the future of my career except this... What else could be more meaningful than this? I am a sinner, but God tells me not to be embarrassed. I sin all the time, but God willingly hopes me to be bold to take my share of redemption. The calling is clear enough!
15-18 Paul has been deserted by EVERYONE in the province of Asia. And we can imagine how hard the way of a preacher, an emissary it was at that time.

2:1-7 Doing my best for God is what I ought to do in my whole life. An athlete who refuses to play by the rules will never get anywhere. And it is the diligent farmer who gets the produce. "And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things." 1 Cor 9:25
8-13 This is a sure thing:
If we die with him, we'll live with him;
If we stick it out with him, we'll rule with him;
If we turn our backs on him, he'll turn his back on us;
If we give up on him, he does not give up - for there's no way he can be false to himself.
14-18 "Concentrate on doing your best for God, work you won't be ashamed of, laying out the truth plain and simple." Another firm criterion to judge what your job would be like or how it suits you.
22-26 Be prudent and calm; inquisitive but not argumentative. Inane discussions will always end up in fights. And, be patient with those who don't beleve for we never know how or when God might sober them up with a change of heart and a turning to the truth, enabling them to escape the Devil's trap, where they are caught and held captive, FORCED TO run his errands.

3:1-5 Want to know how "wonderful" the world is?
11-12 Paul has once been stoned to "death" and stood back up. A pure miracle, which Timothy himself has also witnessed. Acts 14:19-20
16-17 Every part of Scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another—showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God's way. Through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us.

Paul's Last Words

Paul, our beloved brother, great disciple, God's humble servant, will now be ready to get God's applause and, from now on, be always aside with Him, till forever!
