The chapter was about something happening in the hospital that Tommy, Danny's friend and neighbor told him later, which Danny could not see nor feel after he 'died':

The scene was in chaos: the ambulance stopped aside, with the crew's noisy radio chatter. The medical technicians were doing their heroic efforts despite the reading on the heart monitor that showed to be a flat-liner. The ambulance driver then stepped the pedal to the floor and the light was flashing because that's what he should do whether the passenger was dead or alive, rushing desperately to the hospital.

Docs and nurses took Danny to the emergency room. Repeating hundreds of times of CPR as done at Danny's, the medical assistants began resuscitation on his body. One doctor even cralwed onto the gurney and began pushing on my chest while a nurse put a plastic tube down my throat and began breathing onto it. Another doctor stuck a long needle deep into my chest and injected a syringeful of Adrenalin.

No response either...

Docs were tough; they continued to try. Electrical paddles were pressed to Danny's chest and shock his heart back to life. More heart massage popped and cracked my ribs. 'Come on, Dannion, come on!' one nurse shouted in his ear.

Nothing happened. His body was still. He didn't make it. The attending physician pulled a sheet over his face. A nurse called the morgue attendants to take him there. The attending physician walked back to the waiting room exhausted and discouraged to tell Sandy and Tom about the bad news, 'He's dead', he sighed.

Both Sandy and Tom began to cry.

To be continued...
